Happy International Women’s Day!

I am excited to write this, as it touches a very personal chord. Not just because I’m a woman but because incredible women have lifted me throughout my journey. From when I was the only woman in a meeting to witnessing a seismic shift, we have all come a long way.

Today, women aren’t just participating in the change in technology; they’re leading it. With 37% of global tech jobs now held by women, we have moved from mere participants to leaders.

But let’s be honest, this road has not been easy. Women continuously face challenges, from being outnumbered to battling the infamous pay gap. Yet, despite it all, we are here - making strides, breaking barriers, and changing the narrative around women in tech.

At Konnectify, we are living this change. We boast a team of brilliant women who bring their A-game daily, pushing everyone else to think bigger and do better.

Today, we shine a spotlight on their stories, not just to say "thank you" or "well done" (though we're saying that too!) but to spread a little inspiration far and wide. We hope that others who are looking to enter tech do so irrespective of where they are from.

So here goes.

Meet the incredible women behind Konnectify.

Meet Rashmi Ashtaputre, Head of Operations

Hello! I’m Rashmi, and I own operations at Konnectify. With over 14 years of experience, I lead our efforts in ensuring everything from project kickoff to the final delivery exceeds our client's expectations. My world revolves around managing our talented development and QA teams, ensuring we stay on track, and keeping our clients looped in and happy every step of the way.

What does a day in your life look like?

My days start early. I balance the roles of mom and wife, ensuring my family's morning routine runs smoothly before diving into my professional responsibilities. Once I switch to work mode, my day is a whirlwind of activity. I start by reviewing tasks, setting priorities, and leading stand-up meetings to ensure everyone's aligned and ready to tackle the day's challenges.

The bulk of my workday is dedicated to overseeing projects, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and ensuring we're on track to meet our deadlines. I also spend significant time communicating with our clients, ensuring they're updated, and their needs are fully addressed. After work, I recharge by going for walks, attending hobby classes, and spending quality time with my family.

How did you get into this field? What inspired you to?

In my previous role as a leader at a telecom company in the UK, I was immersed in operational readiness and customer interactions. I talked to hundreds of customers and spent a lot of time on legacy systems. But when the world moved towards cloud-based solutions, I moved, too.

The shift from legacy systems to the dynamic SaaS space was driven by my desire to grow and challenge myself, and I’m so happy I took this decision.

What’s your most proud moment in your career?

Reflecting on my career, the highlight has to be my contribution to developing and launching over 50 apps for clients across the globe in just two years at Konnectify. Being at the forefront of customer communications and presenting integration demos has been rewarding and a testament to our team's hard work and dedication.

It’s a journey that underscores our team's dedication and the strong connections we’ve built with our clients, and I’m super excited to take this to 500 and in the thousands soon.

Meet me: Radhika Chugh, Head of Marketing

Hello, y’all. I’m Radhika, heading the marketing department at Konnectify. I thrive at the intersection of creativity and strategy and love crafting narratives that resonate. I'm excited about building Konnectify as a brand and forging meaningful relationships with our audience and clients.

What does a day in your life look like?

Each day is an exciting mix of creative exploration, writing, strategic planning, designing, and so much more, in no chronological order. Understanding customers is at the heart of what I do, so I spend time understanding pain points, brainstorming, aligning objectives, and setting processes.

I spend hours working on features, sometimes understanding another app integration our brilliant team puts together in days. I live in Goa with my partner and two beautiful cats, and I end each day by reading and learning some.

How did you get into this field? What inspired you to?

While I started as a chartered accountant, my transition to tech was unplanned—a happy coincidence. I got my first break at a vibrant startup, which turned out to be a SaaS company, before I even knew what it meant. I’ve always loved technology, and my first job just pushed me further towards it. That was nine years ago, and I’m still happy to be in tech continuously. Furthermore, I love AI and use a lot of apps daily. So, SaaS integration as a category just pushed me ahead to achieve more with less.

What’s your most proud moment in your career?

Rather than a single moment, I am proud of the journey I have had so far, having worked with incredible people and companies. My tenure with Freshworks during a crucial phase of growth stands out as a particularly rewarding chapter, allowing me to learn from the best and contribute. Within Konnectify, launching a new brand and website has been a highlight.

What advice would you give to young women in technology?

Embrace the path of lifelong learning. I never got to go to a proper college, but I got to experience continuous learning.  The tech industry is in constant flux, offering endless opportunities for those who remain curious and adaptable. Don't confine yourself to a single niche; wear multiple hats. The diversity of your experiences will be your most significant asset.

Also, speak up. We need more women in the industry, so speak up and take space.

Going beyond, to women in tech

As we celebrate the remarkable women of Konnectify, we also recognize that the spirit of innovation and leadership extends beyond our immediate community. In the vast world of technology and beyond, countless women are bringing change, breaking stereotypes, and shaping the future in their unique capacities.

So, we extend our celebration to more inspiring women from various sectors (I personally wish we could add many many more. And celebrate them not just today, but everyday).
